No. 24 Notice on Epidemic Prevention and Control of Suzhou

To make continued efforts to prevent import of Covid-19 cases and resurgence of infections and consolidate the city’s efforts in epidemic prevention and control during the New Year’s Day and Spring Festival holidays, this notice hereby specifies the followings:

1. We will strictly conduct a closed loop management of all inbound travelers, keep well-regulated the procedure of concentrated quarantine and medical observation, and ensure the home-based health management of inbound travelers after quarantine. All inbound travelers should immediately report to local residential community and their employer when they come out of quarantine; the residential community should carry out information registration and issue written notification to urge them to cooperate with home-based observation measures such as (travelers and their family members) staying at home and reducing going out for 14 days after they come out of quarantine, no participating in public activities, no visiting public places and taking two nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 in a timely manner. 

2. We encourage people who are working or studying in Suzhou to stay in the place where they work or study as much as possible. Those who must leave Suzhou should avoid peak travel times when returning to their hometowns, workplaces and schools, and report to their employers or schools in advance; all units concerned should guarantee the management and services for those who are staying in Suzhou and continue to take regular epidemic prevention and control measures.

3. We call on all residents in Suzhou to pay serious attention to the situation in medium-risk and high-risk areas and avoid traveling overseas unless it’s necessary or urgent to do so. Travelers who are coming or returning to Suzhou from the medium-risk and high-risk areas should report to local residential community in due time and observe relevant epidemic prevention and control regulations.

4. We call on all residents in Suzhou to avoid gathering and keep good hygiene habits such as practicing social distancing, wearing face masks properly (especially when using public transport and visiting public places), washing hands often, ventilating rooms routinely, using serving chopsticks, etc. Residents should cooperate with temperature check and health code verification when entering or exiting railway stations, ports and other public places. Residents should also pay attention to their health conditions and those who have such symptoms as fever, dry cough and fatigue should immediately seek medical treatment at a fever clinic nearby and inform the medical workers of their whereabouts and contact history over the previous 14 days; keep face masks on and avoid using public transport when seeking treatment.
